ESA plans to order a separate mission to the ISS from SpaceX

For the first time, we will see a scenario in which a government agency, in addition to NASA, will purchase an entire ship from a private company to deliver astronauts to the ISS while the station is still in operation. We are talking about a separate crew under the ESA Provided Institutional Crew (EPIC) program. This is not just about places for European astronauts, but also for partners.

The first mission will be of medium duration (about a month), which is longer than similar flights under the private Axiom program, but shorter than the six-month expeditions to the ISS. However, the tasks will no longer be tourist ones: maintenance and repair of the station, support of operations, logistics, etc.
